A free on-hour webinar on how seniors can prevent themselves from falling is being hosted by the National Council on Aging Wednesday July 12 from 3:30pm to 4:30pm Eastern.

Falls are the no. 1 cause of non-fatal injuries and injuries leading to death among seniors.

A senior enters an emergency room from a fall every 11 seconds and one dies from a fall every 19 minutes.

Roughly 25 percent of adults 65 and over tumble each year.

“Falls are costly—in dollars and in quality of life,” the Council warns in urging seniors to watch the program.

Out-of-pocket costs for falls average $1,363.
