More than half of the 13 women who are most likely to become self-made billionaires are Asian, according to Wealth-X, the ultra-high-net-worth consulting and research company.
Of the top 13, 60 percent are Asian, mirroring the emerging theme of growing Asian wealth seen across other sectors, according to Wealth-X. There are currently 26 self-made female billionaires, according to the firm.
Qianqian Luo, co-founder of Shanda Interactive Entertainment in China, tops the list with a net worth of $910 million. At 33, Luo is also the youngest of the top 13.
Tan Li, co-founder of Shenzhen Hepalink Pharmaceutical, also of China, is second with $860 million. Fashion designer Vera Wang of the U.S. is third with $790 million.
Wealth-X also singles out Marissa Mayer, CEO of Yahoo, calling her Silicon Valley’s golden girl, with a current net worth of $270 million.
