Raymond James & Associates is opening its first office in western Pennsylvania with the addition of the Spanos Group.

Located in Beaver, Pa., the Spanos Group of Raymond James was formerly affiliated with Merrill Lynch, where they managed approximately $535 million in client assets and had annual production in excess of $5 million.

Led by Samuel Spanos, senior vice president, investments, managing director and branch manager, the team includes Gennaro Marsico, Todd Todorich, Robert Lewis, George Kruth, Mark O’Leary and Joseph Thompson as vice presidents, investments. Senior registered service associates Vickie Bobchak, Tracy Starkweather and Stephen Kimmel join them.

Spanos joined Merrill Lynch in 1980, and spent his entire career with the firm until making this move. “After spending 34 years with one firm, I was not about to move just anywhere. I’ve been looking at Raymond James for some time and I conducted very thorough due diligence. Raymond James has the right culture, good conservative management and the proper focus,” he said.
