What’s good for job-seeking baby boomers now may not be so great when they reach retirement.

Some of the cities ranked as the best for baby boomers to find work are also, according to a different ranking, the worst places for them to retire.

The best U.S. cities for over-50-year-olds to find work include New York, Chicago and Newark, N.J, according to Over50JobBoard.com, which used the number of job listings from each city on its website to conduct the ranking.

Earlier this month, WalletHub, a financial educational and research organization, ranked the worst cities for retirement.

The following cities were ranked by Over50JobBoard.com as the best places for baby boomers to get jobs, in ascending order:

10. San Francisco

San Francisco was cited for its status as a financial and technology hub and its 584 job openings.

 

9. Miami

Miami is on the list because of its warm climate and its 851 openings.

 

8. Chicago

The Windy City has 869 job openings.

 

7. Dallas

Dallas is technological hub with 1,073 job opportunities,

 

6. Atlanta

Atlanta has 1,268 open positions.

 

5. Los Angeles

The nation's second-largest city has 1,293 job openings.

 

4. Philadelphia

Philadelphia has 1,550 open positions.

 

3. Fairfax, Va.

Washington D.C. has 1,587 open positions.

 

2. Newark, N.J.

Newark has 1,758 open positions.

 

1. New York

With 2,224 open positions, New York topped the list of places to find work.
