SCM Advisors in Dallas has merged with advisory firm Robertson, Griege & Thoele (RGT), RGT announced Monday.

The merger provides a succession plan for SCM Advisors, says SCM founder and president John A. Bricker Jr. It also strengthens RGT’s presence in the Dallas area, says Mark Griege, founding partner of RGT.

RGT, an independent, fee-only wealth management firm, manages more than $3 billion in client assets and provides family office services to 300 families. It has offices in Dallas and Irvine, Calif.

Bricker has become a partner at RGT after managing his Dallas-based financial firm since 1991. As a managing director with RGT, Bricker will continue to serve his original clients, as well as sit on the firm’s investment committee, according to SCM. RGT will retain SCM Advisors’ staff and its client assets of $600 million.
