Ric Edelman’s public television financial show has been picked up by Bright Lights Media of Singapore and will begin airing in Southeast Asia on the Simply Money cable network, Edelman Financial Services announced Thursday.

Edelman, a columnist for Financial Advisor magazine, is the host of The Truth About Money with Ric Edelman. Bright Lights Media of Singapore has purchased 78 episodes to air on Simply Money, Asia’s first personal finance lifestyle channel, which launched in April.

The show will air weeknights in markets that include Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines. The show now airs on 225 public TV stations in the U.S.

The show covers an array of personal finance topics, including debt management, retirement planning, paying for college, identity theft and estate planning. The series also features interviews with celebrities, lifestyle stories and segments describing how rapidly changing technology will impact everyone’s finances. It has won more than a dozen awards, including multiple TELLY, Communicator and Webby awards.

“Bright Lights Media’s desire to air the show in Asia demonstrates that people worldwide are interested in their personal finances,” says Edelman, who is also CEO of Edelman Financial Services. “Whether you’re from New York or Singapore, you want to know how to pay for your kid’s college education and save for retirement.”

Edelman Financial, a registered investment advisor that manages $14.9 billion in assets, provides financial planning and investment management services.
