Omaha, Nebraska-based financial advisor Ron Carson is launching a new institutional asset management service, Carson Institutional Advisory, that offers other advisors access to the thematic portfolios his $3 billion RIA firm has developed internally.

Relying primarily on individual stocks and ETFs, Carson Institutional's platform differs from many third-party asset management platforms in that it eliminates the fees that usually are attached to mutual funds. Carson says the fees associated with the different strategies he has developed will cost between 45 and 65 basis points.

Advisors who participate in Carson Institutional's platform will be permitted to listen to the firm's investment committee meetings. They must also agree to offer clients a high degree of transparency as well as timely communication.
