Rothschild Asset Management, the U.S. asset management business of the Rothschild Group, has strengthened its alternative investment business with the appointment of Shakil Riaz as head of U.S. alternative portfolio management and global CIO.

Riaz most recently worked at Arden Asset Management as a managing director and member of the investment committee. Riaz worked at JP Morgan for 33 years, the majority of that time as chief investment officer for the internal hedge fund investment program.

In addition, Anthony Marzigliano, who has worked with Riaz since 1995, will also join Rothschild as a managing director. Marzigliano most recently worked at Arden as a managing director and member of the working investment committee. Prior to joining Arden, he spent 18 years at JP Morgan, primarily as a part of Riaz's team managing the bank's proprietary hedge fund portfolio.
