Charles Schwab today announced it expanded its lineup of commission-free exchange-traded funds available on its Schwab ETF OneSource platform.

In all, 65 new ETFs were added to the program––37 from among the six ETF providers already on the platform, and 28 from seven new providers that joined the fold.

The new providers are ALPS, Direxion Investments, Global X Funds, IndexIQ, Pimco, ProShares and WisdomTree. The existing providers that have been on Schwab ETF OneSource since it was launched in February 2013 are ETF Securities, Guggenheim Investments, PowerShares, State Street SPDR ETFs, United States Commodity Funds and Charles Schwab Investment Management.

The platform, which started with 105 ETFs, now consists of 182 funds covering 65 Morningstar categories. Schwab says the program had $31 billion in assets under management as of August 31, and that 45 percent of year-to-date ETF flows at the company have gone through Schwab ETF OneSource.

The platform provides commission-free online trading to individual investors when trades are placed online in a Schwab account; to the roughly 7,000 independent investment advisors who use Schwab’s custodial services; as well as through Schwab retirement accounts that permit trading of ETFs.
