Stratos Wealth Partners, an independent RIA with headquarters in Solon, Ohio, has added five advisors in three major markets to bring its assets under management for brokerage and advisory accounts to $6.2 billion, the firm announced Thursday.

The firm has opened offices in New Orleans and Conway, Ark., which are new markets for Stratos, and it has expanded its presence in San Diego. These new advisors bring a total of more than $470 million in brokerage and advisory assets under management to the firm.

The advisors who joined are Donnie Dietz, formerly of Edward Jones, who works in Conway; Philip Garrett Jr., formerly of Prudential, who works in New Orleans; and James Pierik, of LPL Financial, who will work in San Diego alongside Michael Mays and Thomas Strohl, both formerly of Wells Fargo Advisors.

Stratos Wealth Partners now has more than 140 advisors with offices in 15 states. The firm has increased AUM by about 25 percent from its $5 billion asset count at the end of 2012.
