The recession officially ended 5 years ago, and since 2009 the wealthiest one percent of Americans have captured 95 percent of the post-financial crisis growth, says WalletHub.

And according to the U.S. Census Bureau, the number of new millionaire households increased by 1.1 million to 7.1 million households in 2013.

WalletHub ranked the 50 states and the District of Columbia based on income, GDP per capita and federal taxes paid per capita to identify the states with the highest net worth.
