ING on Monday said that Valerie Brown will become CEO of ING Advisors Network. She replaces John Simmers, who retired in April. Brown had been president of ING Retail Annuities Market Segment, and from 2002 through 2007 was president of ING Advisors Network.

"Although ING Advisors Network is currently going through a comprehensive strategic review," Brown said in a press release, "the network remains committed to providing exceptional service to its registered representatives. Furthermore, I am committed to developing a long-term strategy that allows our registered representatives to build and grow their businesses effectively."

ING Advisors Network's independent broker-dealer channel comprises Financial Network Investment Corp., ING Financial Partners Inc., Multi-Financial Securities Corp., and Primevest Financial Services Inc. The company said last month it might sell all of them--save for ING Financial Partners--as part of a strategic review by its parent company, Dutch insurance giant ING Group.
