Van Eck Global announced that Imaru Casanova has joined the firm as senior gold analyst. She will serve as a member of the investment team responsible for overseeing several of the firms' mutual funds, including the International Investors Gold Fund, the Global Hard Assets Fund and the Van Eck VIP Global Hard Assets Fund.

Prior to joining Van Eck, Casanova worked as managing director and senior equity research analyst at McNicoll Lewis & Vlak, where she was responsible for establishing the metals and mining research department. Before that, she covered the gold mining sector as an equity research analyst at Barnard Jacobs Mellet USA and BMO Capital Markets.

Founded in 1955, Van Eck Global offers actively managed global investment choices in hard assets, emerging markets, precious metals and other alternative asset classes.
