"I had a hard time coming up with just one," says Tom Connelly, when asked for his favorite resource in the money game. When pressed, he names Bridgewater Daily Observations, the research service published by hedge fund firm Bridgewater Associates. "It's the thing I read most frequently," says Connelly, who's also chair of the investment committee for the board of trustees for the Arizona State Retirement System. Bridgewater has "a huge staff, and they construct a lot of their own data and look at it in interesting ways. I read every issue." Alas, BDO isn't widely available to the general public.
