Advisors Michael Kitces and Alan Moore have launched the XY Planning Network, a turn-key platform that is designed to support fee-only advisors who want to focus on Generation X and Y clients at an affordable price.

The network provides advisor members with benefits that include turnkey compliance support—including template documents—client agreements, guides on completing and submitting ADV forms and a listing on the Web site's "Find An Advisor" search engine.

The site is geared toward Gen X and Y investors, with a search feature that allows them to scroll through lists of advisors who charge a flat monthly fee with no required minimum asset amount. Moore said he expects most advisors listed in the search engine will be in the $100 to $150 per month range.

“The XY Planning Network is the first organization to connect consumers with a fee-only advisor providing comprehensive financial planning that has an accessible and affordable fee model,” said Moore.

Moore, a financial planner and founder of Serenity Financial Consulting in Milwaukee and Bozeman, Mt., said they are hoping to get 20 advisors to join as founding members at a $297 monthly rate. The fee is $397 per month for non-founder advisors. Kitces is research director at Pinnacle Advisory Group in Columbia, Md.

Discounted technology packages and access to Kristin Harad’s marketing series the Complete Relationship Marketing Blueprint are also available to advisor members, according to the site at www.xyplanningnetwork.com.

Other member benefits include a peer network that advisors can use to communicate with colleagues, including forums, private video chats and text messaging systems.

Advisors who have the CFP certification and sign a fiduciary oath will also have access to the platforms “Find an Advisor” search profile which helps connect clients with advisors.
