RBC Wealth Management has recruited a former UBS team that managed $1 billion in client assets in Leawood, Kan., according to a news release.
The Total Wealth Management Group includes four financial advisors: Patrick McCarthy, managing director; John L. Brown, senior vice president; Eric A. Taylor, senior vice president; and Scott Jones, vice president. Joining them are Penny McKinney, associate vice president, senior financial associate; LaGina Nicholas, associate vice president, senior business associate; and John McCarthy, associate financial advisor.
McCarthy and Brown had been with Piper Jaffray & Co., for 15 years and 22 years, respectively, before joining UBS in 2006. Taylor started with Piper Jaffray in 2006 and moved to UBS after eight months. Jones began his career with UBS in 2002.
“Access to senior firm leaders and the ease of doing business attracted the team to RBC,” the release noted.
The team will report to Mark Borcherding, Kansas City Complex director at RBC. In a statement, Borcherding said, “This is a high-integrity, multi-generational team that has been doing the right thing for their clients for a long, long time.” He added, “Their success, longevity and solid reputation in the industry and Kansas City area shows their client-first mentality works.”
