Snowden Lane Partners has hired a former Wells Fargo advisor who managed more than $800 million to oversee a new wealth management team in its Coral Gables, Fla. Office, according to a news release from the company.
Tony Esses joins New York City-based Snowden Lane as a senior partner and managing director. The release noted that several additional team recruits are expected to join soon.
The Esses Group marks the seventh hire this year for the fast-growing hybrid registered investment advisor and broker-dealer whose client assets have grown to $8 billion with this latest addition, the release said.
Esses, who specializes in working with individuals, business owners and families based in Argentina, has more than 35 years of experience in the international wealth management business, the release said. He spent seven years at Wells Fargo, and previously worked at Barclays Bank and HSBC Brokerage where he began his career in 2003, according to his BrokerCheck profile.
Esses said Snowden Lane has a client-first mindset and an independent spirit, and he is delighted to join the firm. He said to best serve his clients, “it became clear that I needed to operate within a firm that gave their advisors space and freedom without conflicts or pressure. Snowden Lane’s built an environment that’s removed all obstacles to growth, and their fast rise within the RIA space is a reflection of the strong and unique culture they’ve established,” he said in a statement.
Greg Franks, president and chief operating officer of Snowden Lane, said Esses has established himself as a top-rated financial advisor and a true champion for his clients over the past three decades. “He exemplifies everything we look for in a partner and colleague, and we have no doubt he and his new team will do great things for years to come,” he said.
Rob Mooney, Snowden Lane’s CEO, said they are pleased with the pace and quality of individuals who have joined the firm over the past few months. “We finished 2020 with great momentum and we’re heading into the second half of 2021 with wind in our sails. The strong response from the advisor community, particularly those who cater to international clients, has been nothing short of breathtaking and we’re looking forward to the future,” he added.
