1. How did you personally become involved in fintech?
I have been involved within the fintech industry for 25 years. I had originally envisioned a career in academia, as I’ve always loved getting my arms around complex ideas and issues and breaking them down into simple, solvable outcomes. After getting a PhD in chemical engineering and doing a post-doctorate in the application of mathematics to technology management problems, I was approached by a startup called Algorithmics, which ultimately became the largest enterprise risk management software company in the world. While at Algorithmics, I developed an appreciation for real world problems within the financial services industry that were begging for better, technology-enabled solutions. When Algorithmics was acquired (it eventually became IBM Risk Analytics), I left with two of my colleagues to start R2 Financial Technologies, where we built a multi-asset portfolio management platform for hedge funds and institutional asset managers. We were acquired by S&P, and after staying on for a few years, the three of us left to start d1g1t as we saw a tremendous need for positive, transformative disruption in the wealth management industry.
2. What does your firm do/offer within the fintech sector?

Our platform empowers financial advisory firms and multi-family offices to scale up the high-value, human services that will set them apart in an increasingly digital and automated world. This is especially crucial for firms and professionals who are serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients, families and endowments. We enable these wealth advisory businesses to elevate the quality of the advice they provide and demonstrate its value to their clients under their own service experience and brand.
Through our Enterprise Advisor Platform, d1g1t equips everyone within the firm with powerful intelligence and insights they need in real-time to manage clients, portfolios and their business. Our white-labeled Investor’s Application—which is available via the web and on iOS and Android mobile devices—provides clients with 24/7 access to their portfolios and plans, together with investment insights. And we deliver all of this through a customizable, interactive and intuitive experience.
3. What has been the biggest success in your firm to date?
This year we went live with the platform and our first group of clients. Within a short time, we've signed on 11 clients who manage over $50 million in assets under management, which is a testament to how unique and effective our offering is. Our clients include several marquee wealth advisory firms and we recently signed our first U..S client, BBR Partners, a top 10 RIA and multi-family office. All of this is possible because we assembled an amazing team of over 40 professionals who have built a great product that fills a significant need within the industry.
Dr. Dan Rosen is an internationally recognized quant and fintech entrepreneur whose systems have been implemented at many of the top banks, institutional asset managers, hedge funds, pension funds, insurance companies and regulators worldwide.
