Financial planners need coaches in their corner to help them hone their skills. The Financial Planning Association has launched a program to provide that coaching to its members, the organization announced Monday.

The FPA Coaches Corner will provide tools and insights from recognized financial business coaches to help FPA members with marketing and messaging, team development, growth strategies, compliance, and creating the right mindset. The coaches also will address how to communicate value, manage highly efficient operations, and handle cyber security and data protection.

Participating coaches, who will specialize in particular areas, include the following:

Stephanie Bogan, a business consultant and author with experience in behavioral and neuro sciences, will help advisors develop the right mindset to address their practices. She specializes in business strategy, business development, operations optimization and human capital management.

Compliance issues will be handled by Todd Sakoda and John Carr. Both are compliance consultants and principals at The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management. Sakoda specializes in RIA compliance, operations, relationship management, business development and client services.  Carr is a lawyer who represents financial professionals in matters involving the SEC, Finra, DOL, state securities and insurance agencies.

Sarah Dale, founder and president of Know No Bounds and partner at Performance Insights, and Krista Sheets, president of Paragon Recourses and founder and president of Performance Insights, will handle team management subjects.

Susan Kornegay, co-founder of Pathfinder Strategic Solutions, will work with advisors on messaging and marketing strategies. She also specializes in business planning and implementation, team development and business model transitions.

Cyber security issues will be addressed by Brian Edelman, CEO of FCI financial consultants. He has extensive experience in regulations and compliance.

Mike Byrnes, founder and president of Byrnes Consulting LLC, will coach advisors on business growth strategies, including business planning, business development, client services and management effectiveness.
