After 16 years with Merrill Lynch, a Bank of America company, where she managed some $112 million in client assets, according to a press release, Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Christy Campbell has joined Thrive Advisory Group, a unit of Alex. Brown, the St. Petersburg, Fla.-based division of Raymond James that was established in 1800.
The 21-year veteran of the financial services industry will be a vice president and senior institutional consultant. She will continue offering financial planning and wealth management to a variety of clients, including individuals, institutions, and small businesses, on customized strategies to enhance their financial well-being.
“The decision to move my practice to Alex. Brown has allowed me to truly focus on individual and institutional client needs, which drives the investment and fiduciary process,” said Campbell, in a statement.
Raymond James & Associates, a wholly owned subsidiary of Raymond James Financial, is Alex. Brown’s broker/dealer and registered investment advisor. All told, Raymond James Financial has about 8,700 financial advisors worldwide and total client assets in excess of $1.2 trillion as of Nov. 30, 2022, according to the corporate website.
“The systems, data security, technology, efficiencies, and expansive investment platform enable me to build customized strategies that prioritize my clients’ goals,” said Campbell.
The website further explained that she will primarily concentrate on plan sponsors and investment committees to optimize their defined benefit, defined contribution, and non-qualified plans through tailored strategies that fit each business and its employees.
Moreover, Campbell will serve as the primary consultant to plan administrators and conduct enrollment and plan participant meetings. She is a certified financial planner, a certified plan fiduciary advisor designee through the National Association of Plan Advisors, and a certified 401(k) professional, a designation she earned from Retirement Advisor University and the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Before Merrill, she held positions at BB&T (now Truist Financial Corp.) and Citigroup Global Markets.
