Western International Securities Inc., (WIS), an independent wealth management firm and wholly owned subsidiary of N.Y.-based Atria Wealth Solutions Inc., today announced the opening of its latest turnkey branch office in Newport Beach, Calif., and the addition of the Johnson Wealth Group, with $385 million of assets, according to a news release.
The Johnson Wealth Group, which has offices in Nevada and Newport Beach, is led by Don Johnson, his son, Dylan Johnson—both formerly with Wells Fargo Advisors—and his brother, Jeff Johnson, previously with Mutual Securities.
Don Johnson said the team decided to go independent with WIS because of the support it offers. “As our team is located in both Nevada and Newport Beach, we were facing a challenge of establishing strong office locations in both markets. WIS’s turnkey service and branch model allowed my team to join the new, modern office in Newport Beach, so they could maintain sole focus on providing clients with a broad choice of high-quality products and financial solutions,” he said in a statement. “This new engagement with WIS will further our trusted relationships with many of our clients in the Newport Beach and Nevada communities.”
WIS was acquired by Atria, a multichannel wealth management holding company, in May.
Don Bizub, president of WIS, said the firm is focused on providing a seamless transition experience and administrative, operational and technical support to the individuals who partner with them. “Every day, our focus is to deliver full-service support so they can focus on delivering customized, non-proprietary solutions to their clients,” he said.
Pasadena, Calif.-based WIS, established in 1995, is an independent broker-dealer. It serves more than 400 independent financial professionals, and has offices nationwide
