Boston Private, a Boston-based provider of wealth management, trust and commercial and private banking services, has named Colleen Graham to the position of executive vice president and general counsel.

Graham will be responsible for key control functions in legal and compliance, as well as administrative oversight of internal audit, the company said. She will report to Boston Private CEO Anthony DeChellis.

Graham has more than 30 years of experience. She joins Boston Private from NextGen Compliance LLC, a legal and compliance advisory firm she founded and led as CEO. Graham was also the founder and co-CEO of Signac, a fintech joint venture between Credit Suisse and Palantir Technologies.

Graham has a law degree from St. John's University School of Law and a bachelor's degree in finance and marketing from Boston College Carroll School of Management.
