MassMutual Unveils Mobile Retirement Plan Enrollment App

Busy workers can now enroll in their employer’s 401(k) or similar retirement savings plan anytime, anywhere, thanks to an enhanced mobile app now available through the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) in Springfield, Mass.

MassMutual’s RetireSMART mobile app allows users to enroll in their employer’s defined contribution retirement plan, determine how much to contribute from each paycheck and then select their investments.

Once enrolled, plan participants can also alter their current investment strategy by changing investment options. They can also rebalance existing accounts within different investments, increase their contributions or request assistance in consolidating their retirement savings accounts.

The app is available free of charge to workers whose employers sponsor a MassMutual defined contribution retirement plan. The app can be downloaded in the Apple or Google app stores.
