Insurance solutions from Schechter have been added to the CAIS alternative investments platform, the companies said.
CAIS officials said they viewed the addition of insurance options as key to allowing advisors who use its technology to provide comprehensive planning for clients.
“Insurance strategies are a critical component when offering holistic financial advice,” CAIS founder and CEO Matt Brown said in a prepared statement. “Insurance can be complex, and most advisors seek a specialist. Schechter’s track record of servicing advisors is unmatched."
The deal will give users of the CAIS platform access to Schechter's analysis and research, underwriting, support and policy administration; a menu of 20 insurance carriers rated A or A+ by Standard & Poors; and a selection of commission- and fee-based insurance offerings, the press release said.
Schechter, based in Birmingham, Mich., describes itself as a boutique, third-generation financial services firm whose roots stretch back 80 years.
