CAIS, a New York-based alternative investment platform, announced today a new integration with Omaha-based wealth management platform Orion.

The integration, CAIS’s first automated data and reporting integration with an advisor technology firm, should enable advisors to experience a more “robust” view of their alternative investments, according to CAIS’s announcement.

“CAIS has been a champion of the independent advisor community bringing improved access and education to alternative investments,” said Trent Mumma, chief product officer at Orion, in released comment. “As demand grows for access to non-correlated assets, our integration with CAIS will play an important role in helping advisors meet the long-term financial goals of investors.”

The integration, which pairs data points from Orion Connect with CAIS’s alternatives platform, will allow advisors to:

  • Offer clients a broad selection of alternative investment strategies.
  • Receive faster, more enriched data from Orion and eliminate some manual data management processes.
  • View the complexity of clients’ alternative investments within Orion’s platform.
  • Access CAIS IQ, an advisor learning system.

CAIS has recently announced integrations with Fidelity, Schwab and BNY | Mellon Pershing, which it calls the first phase of its growth and development strategy focusing on custodians. With the Orion integration, CAIS has turned its focus to links with advisor technology, according to the announcement.

“All ecosystem integration partners share a commitment to optimizing the client experience to be simpler and more efficient for financial advisors,” said Matt Brown, founder and CEO of CAIS, in released comment. “Through our integration with the leading custodians and now Orion, CAIS will further unlock the potential of our best-in-class alternative investment platform, empowering independent financial advisors to be more competitive and further improve client outcomes.”
