Carillon Tower Advisers, a wholly owned subsidiary of Raymond James, has appointed Robert D. Kendall to the position of president, effective May 7, the company announced in a news release.

Kendall, who formerly served as CEO of DWS Americas, will lead Carillon’s strategic growth efforts and global business development. He succeeds Cooper Abbott, who retired from the firm on March 31.

Before working at the DWS Group, Kendall served in multiple leadership roles in client coverage, account management and product development at the Van Kampen Investments unit of Morgan Stanley Investment Management. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business.

Headquartered in St. Petersburg, Fla., Carillon Tower Advisers had $74 billion in assets under management and advisement as of March 31, 2021.
