Carson Wealth has acquired True North Financial, a six-person advisor team managing more than $400 million in Billings, Mont., according to a press release.

Carson Wealth, the financial planning and wealth management arm of Omaha, Neb.-based Carson Group, which manages $38 billion in assets, said True North is its second location in Montana and is now called Carson Wealth | True North Financial. True North’s team is led by managing partner and wealth advisor Ty Vogele and wealth advisors David Guenthner and Ryan Wittman, according to the release.

Carson did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.

True North’s “proven expertise and deep understanding of the Montana market will greatly enhance our collective ability to serve clients,” Burt White, Carson Group CEO, said in a statement. “This partnership enables True North's advisors to focus even more intently on client relationships. We're excited to experience their contribution to our shared mission.”

Partnering with Carson’s platform gives True North access to Carson's investment strategies, tax planning and estate planning resources, Carson said.

Carson said that True North’s clients will continue working with their existing advisor teams.

Vogele called the deal a “game-changer” that will “propel our practice to the next level.”

“We were struggling with balancing client needs, firm growth and everyday demands,” he said in the release. “Now, we have the resources and support to deepen client relationships and explore innovative financial planning solutions.”
