Chevy Chase Trust, an independently owned investment management firm for high-net-worth individuals, families, endowments and institutions, has appointed Jeff Whitaker to the position of president and CEO, the Bethesda, Md.-based company announced in a news release.

Before joining Chevy Chase Trust, Whitaker served as chief operating officer for client service and marketing at Bridgewater Associates, a Westport, Conn.-based hedge fund. He has also served as chief operating officer for the Boston-based private equity firm Berkshire Partners, and as managing director and chief financial officer at J.P. Morgan U.S. Private Bank.
