Former Merrill Lynch wealth manager Craig Robson, who managed $450 million in client assets at the firm’s Atlanta office, is launching Regent Peak Wealth Advisors.

Robson’s independent wealth management firm will be based in Atlanta and will serve high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients, the company said.

Dynasty Financial Partners, a N.Y.-based financial consultant, will provide Regent with wealth management services, personnel, capital support, and its asset management platform. Dynasty also will provide Regent with access to its proprietary advisor desktop, in-house specialists, home office support and the firm’s industry scale.

“Leveraging Dynasty’s capabilities will allow us to market ourselves to new opportunities, such as expanding our offerings to corporate executives,” Robson said in a press release. “By offering a more comprehensive range of advisory services, we will expand growth opportunities within our firm.”

Robson plans on expanding Regent’s footprint beyond Atlanta through strategic acquisitions with advisors in other areas of the country, according to the press release.

Robson will have the title of founding principal and managing director. Joining him at his new firm are former Merrill Lynch colleagues Kevin Manning; Nathan Hoyt; and Carmen Laster, and Regent newcomer Emily Raymond.

Charles Schwab of San Francisco is providing custody services for Regent's clients’ assets; Black Diamond Performance Reporting LLC in Jacksonville, Fla., is providing consolidated asset and performance reporting; and attorney Corey Kupfer of Kupfer & Associates of Rye Brook, N.Y., is providing legal counsel for the transition and launch of the new wealth management firm.
