Commonwealth Financial Network has added a former Edward Jones advisor who managed about $157 million in client assets to its network of independent financial advisors, according to a news release today.

Troy Aucoin, who operates Aucoin Wealth Management in Baton Rouge, La., offers comprehensive wealth management, investment strategies and planning solutions to help clients achieve their individual financial goals, according to the news release. It noted that Aucoin will be joined by his support staff, Sharon DeMarte.

Aucoin, who has been with Edward Jones since he started his career in 2002, said he gave this move a great deal of thought. “As I approached my 20th year as an advisor, I envisioned my next 20. I needed to make sure this move was right, not just for me, but for my clients as well,” he said in a prepared statement.

Aucoin said Commonwealth’s culture cemented his decision. “I wasn’t recruited, I was consulted. They wanted to be sure they were the right firm for me as much as I did,” he said.

Commonwealth’s transition assistance and its range of offerings also played strongly in Aucoin’s decision to join the firm, he said.

Founded in 1979, Commonwealth has headquarters in Waltham, Mass., and San Diego. The registered investment advisor and independent broker-dealer supports more than 2,000 independent financial advisors nationwide
