A trio of advisors managing more than $375 million in assets has joined Raymond James Financial Services’ independent advisor channel in New Jersey, according to a news release from the company.

Michael Topinka, Carl Boomhower and Daniel Tyburski operate as Topinka Financial. As a part of the move, the team has opened a new office in Wayne, N.J. They are joined by Kaitlyn Blaise, director of client services for Topinka Financial and RJFS client service associate.

Topinka, who founded the firm, worked at Merrill Lynch starting in 2002 and has more than two decades of financial services’ experience. He works directly with clients and leads the team’s investment efforts.

“Every department we interviewed at Raymond James had a common theme and at the end of the day, we realized this truly was a client centric environment, which is exactly what we were looking for,” he said in a statement.

“Upon the conclusion of our due diligence, it was without question that this was the organization we felt would best allow us to deliver a full-service advisory solution, while supporting our creativity and vision for the future of Topinka Financial. Raymond James checked every box, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision,” he added.

Boomhower, director at Topinka Financial and RJFS financial advisor, began working in the financial services industry while still in college, spending two years at Northwestern Mutual. He joined Merrill Lynch in 2017. Tyburski, director at Topinka Financial and RJFS financial advisor, started his career with Merrill Lynch in 2008, and Blaise joined the team last year.

“We’re pleased to continue growing our presence in the Northeast with the addition of exceptional teams like Topinka Financial,” said Shannon Reid, RJFS Northeast regional director.

Raymond James Financial Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of Raymond James Financial Inc., which has about 8,200 financial advisors throughout the U.S., Canada and overseas, and a total of $1.02 trillion in client assets.
