RBC Wealth Management has recruited a former UBS financial advisor who managed about $270 million in client assets, according to a news release.

Ryan McHugh, senior vice president, runs the McHugh Investment Group in Bend, Ore. He began his career at UBS in 2011. The release noted that he was named to Forbes’ “America’s Top Next-Gen Advisors” list in 2018 and its “Next-Gen Best-in-State Wealth Advisors” list in 2019. Joining him at RBC are Nona Coleman, a registered client associate, and Jordan Freund, a senior investment associate.

“We were drawn to RBC Wealth Management’s unique culture and deep respect for the client-advisor relationship,” McHugh said in a statement, adding that RBC’s values closely align with his firm's. “This, paired with the broad platform of resources, support and autonomy granted to advisors, made it the best fit for our team.”

Pamela Carty, a Bend branch director at RBC, said McHugh and his team will make a great addition to the office. “The team is known for having a strong work ethic, sound financial principles and disciplined investment strategies,” she said.

Founded in 1909, RBC Wealth Management (U.S.) has $537 billion in total client assets with more than 2,100 financial advisors operating in 183 locations in 42 states.
