Fidelity Institutional has expanded its alternative investments platform for financial intermediaries.
The expansion will provide wider access to private equity funds for Fidelity Institutional clients through strategic relationships with iCapital, CAIS and Goldman Sachs Asset Management, the Boston-based company announced.
“Delivering increased access to private equity has been a priority since we launched our alternative investments platform more than two years ago,” Mark Haggerty, head of product for Fidelity Institutional, said in a statement. “Advisors have been looking for an effective way to leverage this type of investment strategy. By working with some of the major providers in the private equity space, we believe our offering gives advisors who are interested in private equity the tools to efficiently evaluate and incorporate these investments into their clients’ portfolios.”
Launched in 2013, Fidelity’s alternatives platform provides clients with research, education and third-party due diligence.
Under the expansion, Fidelity Institutional investors have access to iCapital Network’s curated list of private equity investments at $100,000 minimum account level requirements. The investments are complemented by research and diligent tools integrated with Fidelity’s platform.
Fidelity clients will be able to access CAIS’s electronic subscriptions, reporting and portfolio construction tools.
GSAM will provide Fidelity Institutional clients with access to portfolios of external private equity and hedge fund managers, as well as its alternative investment thought leadership.
In addition, Fidelity’s Alternative Investments Network allows clients to access registered private equity products for accredited investors.
