Fidelity Investments today announced the release of an iPhone app for advisors using Fidelity WealthCentral.

The app provides advisors with access to client account balances, holdings and transaction activity, as well as alerts, market news and quote details. The app, available as a free download to advisors from the iPhone app store or through iTunes, is the initial step in Fidelity's WealthCentral Mobile strategy. Fidelity will expand the program to make WealthCentral accessible on other mobile devices. It is anticipated that an iPad app will be available shortly, as well as apps for other popular mobile phones and tablets.

Advisors can customize the iPhone app display preferences to fit their specific work styles.  Future versions of the apps will include various enhancements such as trading, interactive charting and sophisticated look-up capabilities for account details, according to Fidelity.

"We've leveraged a combination of Fidelity's people, processes and technology to create a new app that merges innovative mobile technologies such as the iPhone with the power of WealthCentral", said Edward O'Brien, senior vice president and head of technology, Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services. "As a result, advisors not only can maximize their productivity, but deliver an exceptional client experience while helping accelerate the growth of their practices."

"Our advisors are frequently away from the office when a client needs help or immediate answers to their questions," said Rick Adkins, chief executive officer of Arkansas Financial Group.  "The new WealthCentral app is a great efficiency tool for our staff, providing access to the same timely, integrated account data regardless of whether or not we are in the office."
