Fiduciary Trust International, a New York City-based global wealth manager and wholly-owned subsidiary of Franklin Templeton, has appointed Miles Powell as regional managing director and senior relationship manager in Washington, D.C., the company said today in a news release.

Bill Leffingwell will continue to serve as senior portfolio manager in Fiduciary Trust International’s Washington, D.C., office, while Powell will oversee the company’s office in Arlington, Va. He will report to Lawrence A. Sternkopf, president and chief operating officer of Fiduciary Trust International. 

Powell formerly served as managing director and senior director of investment and fiduciary services at Wells Fargo Private Bank in McLean, Va., for more than a decade. He has also served as senior vice president and market trust executive at Bank of America Private Bank, and earlier in his career was senior vice president and corporate sales director at Riggs Bank.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the College of William and Mary.
