Florham Park Wealth Advisors

Dennis Hall joined Florham Park Wealth Advisors, an independent investment firm associated with Wells Fargo Financial Network (FiNet), from Merrill Lynch, FiNet announced.

Hall brings 25 years of industry experience to Florham Park Wealth Advisors and FiNet. According to Hall, he wasn’t pleased with his clients' inability to hold a stock position in their individual retirement accounts (IRAs) so he went independent.

“I felt that I wanted the flexibility to manage my clients’ assets the way they wanted me to manage them,” said Hall. “I now have the freedom to give my clients the service they were looking for.”

Hall said he turned to FiNet because he would be allowed to use the best interest contract (BIC) exemption that broker-dealers need to have in place in order to conduct some of their existing business activities. Hall added that his clients weren’t pleased with Merrill’s fee-based arrangement where a bulk of IRA assets was moved into fee accounts.

“The wirehouses have one agenda and the good advisor has another agenda,” said Jack Wiener, the managing principal and financial advisor at Florham Park Wealth Advisors, in touting the pros of going independent. “Our agenda is servicing our clients in a way that’s best for them.”

Wiener also announced that his practice added a new extension to his office to prepare for the addition of a few more financial advisors to his practice.

“It seems like independence is on the rise,” said Wiener, who is expecting to pick up another advisor in February.

Florham Park Wealth Advisors is based in Florham Park, N.J., and has over $350 million in assets under management.
