Mark Tibergien, the former head of BNY Mellon | Pershing’s RIA custodian business, has joined the board of directors of Pathstone, a Englewood, N.J.-based multiple family office.

Tibergien stepped down as CEO of Pershing Advisor Solutions earlier this year after a 13-year career at Pershing. Prior to joining Pershing, he served for 14 years as principal at accounting and consulting firm Moss Adams.

"I am excited to join the board of Pathstone," Tibergien said in released comments. “I have known Pathstone and the team for many years and have watched them grow and be recognized as an innovating force in the family office and wealth management business."

Tibergien becomes Pathstone’s second independent board member. Earlier this year, the firm named to the board Ron Cordes, co-founder and former CEO of AssetMark and co-founder of the Cordes Foundation.

While Tibergien brings to the board his experience working with RIAs, in particular firms in transition, Cordes said that his appointment had more to do with his experience with Pathstone in the areas of ESG and impact investing.

"Mark was part of the discussion 11 years ago when Pathstone was just an idea,” said Allan Zachariah, Co-CEO of Pathstone, in released comments. “With Mark now joining our board, he has come full circle with the firm. Having both Mark and Ron as independent Board members will be extremely beneficial to our business's long-term vision and growth."
