Financial advisor Matt Vanden Heuvel has joined Raymond James & Associates (RJA), the firm’s employee advisor channel, in Appleton, Wis., the company announced.

Vanden Heuvel and his team of Jenna Mielke, senior investment portfolio analyst, and Cindy O’Brien, senior client service associate, were formerly with RBC Capital Markets, where they managed $460 million in client assets. They will now operate as Vanden Heuvel Wealth Management of Raymond James.

“We were drawn to Raymond James by the firm’s recognition and respect for the client-advisor relationship,” Vanden Heuvel said in a prepared statement. “Throughout the vetting process, it became clear the firm’s values most closely aligned with our own. This, paired with the broad platform of resources, support and autonomy they grant to advisors, is of tremendous value. Overall, we are confident Raymond James was the right move for our clients and our team.”

Vanden Heuvel, managing director of the practice, has worked in the financial services industry for over 29 years. He started his career with Kemper Securities, which later became Everen Securities. He then moved to Dain Bosworth Inc., remaining at the firm for over 25 years through its acquisition by RBC. Vanden Heuvel earned a  bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Headquartered in St. Petersburg, Fla., Raymond James & Associates Inc., is a wholly owned subsidiary of Raymond James Financial Inc., a diversified financial services company with approximately 8,500 financial advisors worldwide, and total client assets of $1.26 trillion.
