The Financial Planning Association's board has elected Evelyn M. Zohlen to a one-year term as FPA president-elect in 2018.

Under the FPA's leadership structure, Zohlen will succeed 2017 FPA President-elect Frank Paré, who will take over as the organization's president in January 2018.

Zohlen is scheduled to serve as president starting in January 2019.

Zohlen is founder and president of Huntington Beach, Calif.-based Inspired Financial. Prior to founding her firm, she served as a relationship manager for The Vanguard Group. She is also a former intelligence officer in the U.S. Air Force.

Additionally, the FPA announced the election of three new members who will start serving three-year terms on its board of directors on Jan. 1, 2018: Kimberly Bridges, vice president at the Commerce Trust Company in Kansas City; Christopher Draughon, director of financial planning at First Coast Wealth Advisors in St. Augustine, Fla.; and Dennis J. More, partner and COO at Quest Capital Management in Dallas.
