“What you see today is just the first release of the new website and brand,” Lewis said. “While work will continue through the fall for the second release, the FPA Board of Directors is committed to ensuring the resources are available to see this through.”
Elsewhere, FPA announced it added two new membership categories aimed specifically at next-generation planners. Both are offered at introductory rates and are available for a four-year maximum period. The "Aspiring Financial Planner" category is for people who want to work in financial planning or financial services but currently don’t. The annual cost is $50, including chapter dues.
The "New to the Profession Financial Planner" category is for people who have worked in financial planning or financial services for four years or less. The annual cost is $225, including chapter dues.
FPA now has seven membership types. The top tier is for professionals who have worked in financial planning or financial services for at least five years, and the yearly cost is $375, plus local chapter dues.
The new categories are available for new members only. These categories, Lewis said, have the same level of access as FPA’s other membership types and are meant “to provide an on-ramp into membership that ensures affordability and a smoother transition, with the hope that we can create not only new members, but members for life.”
