Harbor Financial Group, with $360 million in assets under management (AUM), has joined the LPL Financial LLC broker-dealer and corporate registered investment (RIA) advisor platforms.

Harbor Financial was formerly with Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network.

Located in South Carolina, Harbor partners Cam Werntz and Clay Hershey operate offices in Charleston and Murrells Inlet that provide financial guidance to retired clients and clients preparing for retirement.

Werntz said that one of the main reasons he and Hershey chose LPL was the support the firm provided to its advisors.

LPL Financial, headquartered in Boston, is the largest independent broker-dealer in the United States. As of September 30, 2018, LPL had 16,174 financial advisors, $681 billion in advisory and brokerage assets and $493 million in 2018 third-quarter gross profits.

Rich Steinmeier, LPL Financial managing director and divisional president, business development, said that his firm welcomed Harbor Financial and looked forward to supporting its continued growth.

Harbor is seeking to open new offices and hire more advisors to service the needs of its growing clientele through its partnership with LPL.
