BNY Mellon has appointed a JPMorgan veteran  to the new position of global head of consultant relations for its securities services and digital business, the New York City-based company announced.

Josh Lavender got his start in 1992 as a senior mutual fund accountant with Merrill Lynch. He most recently served as a client executive at JPMorgan Chase & Co., which he joined in 2008.

Based in the company’s New York City headquarters, he will be responsible for building strategic relationships with both global and U.S. local consultants, the announcement said.

Lavender will work alongside the firm’s leadership to develop and execute on a coordinated coverage model, while also partnering with market influencers to implement solutions for clients in the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific regions, the release said.

“BNY Mellon has a long history of working closely with the consultant community to address the needs of institutional investors,” Jane Mancini, head of business development, asset servicing, at BNY Mellon, said in the announcement.. “As we continue to expand our global presence, Josh will enable us to ensure we establish and maintain critical relationships and continue to deliver a high-quality client experience across all regions.”
