Jon Cheigh, executive vice president and head of global real estate for Cohen & Steers, a global investment manager specializing in liquid real assets, has been named chief investment officer of the New York City-based firm.
He succeeds Joseph Harvey, president of Cohen & Steers, who has held the position of CIO since 2003 and was recently appointed to the Board of Directors, Cohen & Steers announced Wednesday.
Cheigh remains head of global real estate and will continue to focus the majority of his time on managing the real estate team, process and portfolios. As CIO, he will provide guidance and oversight to all Cohen & Steers investment teams.
