Brokerage and advisory firm Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services has announced the launch of its Enterprise Innovation initiative and Innovation Lab. The company said innovation strategist Dan Sachar has been named as the vice president of enterprise innovation.

The launch of the enterprise platform and the in-house consultancy resources will allow the company to create new business models and build on its current technology to further enhance the expertise and tools already in place across the company’s subsidiary firms, it said in a release.

Adam Malamed, Ladenburg’s COO, said, “Our newly launched Enterprise Innovation initiative will play a crucial role in helping us anticipate, identify, test and implement the technologies, solutions and practices that will define the next era of retail financial advice.”

The development and direction of new applications, along with input from advisor leadership teams, will provide advisors with the ability to “test drive” new solutions and strategies to further the company’s future success, Ladenburg said.

Sachar said, “By collaborating closely with key stakeholders across the Ladenburg organization, our industry partner companies as well as the start-up and venture capital communities, Ladenburg Innovation Lab will seek to provide our firms and advisors with actionable new strategies and tools that place them firmly ahead of the curve in the years ahead.”

In the past, Sachar served as founder and principal of Next Advisors Inc., an independent technology and business strategy consultancy helping large organizations with opportunities for growth, investment and product development. He also acted as client partner at leading start-up incubator and investment and services firm Highnote Foundry.

Ladenburg Thalmann is one of the largest companies in the independent retail financial advice space, supporting more than 4,000 financial advisors across its wholly owned subsidiaries, Securities America, Triad Advisors, Investacorp, KMS Financial Services and Securities Service Network.
