LPL Financial today announced that a former Ameriprise team in Independence, Ohio, with $550 million in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets has joined its broker-dealer, RIA and custodial platforms.
ViewPoint Wealth Partners was founded by advisors Paul LaBanc and Donald Grassi, who formed their initial partnership in 2001. The team includes advisors Michael Kozlowski, Brian Miller and Jennifer Bower, director of client relations Theresa Guerini, and two support staff.
LaBanc and Grassi began their careers with Ameriprise and IDS Life Insurance in 1992. They left IDS in 2006, according to BrokerCheck. Kozlowski began his career with IDS and Ameriprise in 1999. Miller joined both firms in 2001 and Bower began with Ameriprise in 2015.
“As we grow our team, we wanted to find the best place to continue our legacy and bring on the next generation of advisors,” Grassi said in a statement. “With LPL, we have more ownership of our business, along with full control in how we operate. We have access to best-in-class technology that’s continuously evolving with the industry, in turn creating efficiencies so we can spend more time with clients.”
LeBanc added, “The goal is to help take the guesswork and uncertainty out of retirement planning. We work together to help ensure clients have a road map that encompasses their entire financial picture.”
This is the fourth team that LPL has recruited this week with more than $1 billion in combined assets.
On Monday, it added former UBS advisors Michael J. Pumo and David A. DiRe, with about $250 million in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets. They launched 360 Wealth Advisors in Austin, Texas.
On Tuesday, LPL added former Morgan Stanley advisor Carmen Pontelandolfo to its employee advisor channel, Linsco by LPL Financial. Pontelandolfo , based in Marlton, N.J., launched CJP Wealth Management of LPL Financial. He managed about $135 million in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets.
And yesterday, LPL added advisors John Lankford and Justin Pestel of Pathway Wealth Advisors in Wichita Falls, Texas who managed $125 million in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets. They joined from Woodbury Financial, part of Osaic (formerly Advisor Group).
