LPL Financial announced today that a Truist Financial duo that managed about $300 million in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets has joined its employee advisor channel, Linsco by LPL Financial, in Tampa, Fla.

Kultar S. “Sid” Bindra and Steven Alvarez have launched the Bindar Group. They had been with Truist for three years, according to BrokerCheck.

Bindra, who began in the industry in 2013 with Morgan Stanley, was employed with UBS Financial and Truist’s predecessor, BB&T Securities, prior to joining Truist in 2021. He was a 2023 Forbes Best-in State Next-Generation Wealth Advisor. Alvarez started with BB&T in 2019. He joined Bindar’s team as a junior partner in 2022, according to LPL.

The announcement also noted that the duo decided to partner with LPL by Linsco after going through a major reorganization at Truist and wanting to have more control of how they operate their business.

“The aspect of business ownership within an independent organization was pivotal for me. To have my name prominently displayed in our brand is a testament to my family’s legacy,” Bindra said in a statement. “We truly appreciate the freedom and flexibility to build a practice on our terms and take care of clients the way we see fit.”

Added Alvarez, “We are excited to join LPL Financial and become part of a firm that is dedicated to providing its advisors with the resources and support they need to be successful. We look forward to evolving our practice to give clients smoother experiences and elevated services.”
