LPL Financial is launching a new platform to help advisors increase their retirement business by serving more individuals rolling over their 401(k) plans.
LPL's Rollover Results Program supports retirement plan advisors, plan sponsors and plan participants. The program includes a "Retirement Results Desk," which helps individuals who are leaving their employers understand and think through the options available for their 401(k) balances. The desk can open IRA accounts for them, assist them with retirement account transfers, provide information on the rollover process and respond to the departing employees' concerns.
The desk also helps advisors partner with other LPL advisors to better serve departing employees. Plan advisors can request a list of partnership candidates from the desk's advisor-matching database, select an appropriate partner, and craft custom partnership agreements on a client-by-client basis.
The program also aligns the needs of advisors and employers by providing advisors with tools and resources to help retirement plan participants. These resources include ready-made, customizable workshops that LPL Financial advisors can present to retirement plan participants, as well as online planning modules and more.
Bill Chetney, executive vice president of LPL Financial Retirement Partners, says the program provides employers and their employees with more information on retirement options, when they are in the plan and once they leave it. "The program also helps our advisors build their businesses by putting them in control of new options for serving sponsor clients' separating employees," he says.
