Vanguard Partners To Improve Index Data Distribution With Pilot

Among Vanguard’s latest methods to modernize and streamline its practice, the investment firm has partnered with technology provider Symbiont and the Center for Research in Security Prices to develop a blockchain system for the movement of index data.

Vanguard stated it’s on a mission to help simplify the index data-sharing process between providers and the market. Investment managers will process, receive and reallocate data over a decentralized database and be able to track it in a cost-effective manner.

Symbiont has created the blockchain technology and smart contracts, which help automate work flow, while CRSP tested the index data delivery over the blockchain.

 

Fi360 Updates And Extends Its Training Program

Fi360, the company that delivers fiduciary education and technology to financial professionals, has added more modules to the Fiduciary Essentials for Advisors (FEA) training program.

Fi360 added modules about 401(k) plans, 2017 fiduciary activities and the fiduciary responsibilities associated with healthy savings accounts.

The FEA commenced in 2016 to meet a demand for fiduciary education.
