NAPFA, the trade group representings fee-only advisors, today released resources to help advisors handle diversity and inclusion issues.

The centerpiece of these new diversity efforts is the D + I Toolkit, a series of short videos and a written guide developed by NAPFA’s Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee, which will help firms navigate conversations in the equity, diversity and inclusion spaces, the organization said.

The tool kit is designed to address four components:

  • Creating a welcoming, inclusive culture.
  • Advocating for marginalized peoples.
  • Promoting inclusion within firms.
  • Crafting and deploying an equitable hiring system.

“Our vision is to be the standard bearer for diverse advisors by offering member resources that advance D, E & I and helps cultivate a community where diverse perspectives and backgrounds are valued,” said Geof Brown, NAPFA CEO, in released comments. “While there seems to be plenty of awareness around diversity and inclusion, the struggle for most organizations is making it a part of everyday experiences. These new resources are designed to help planners discuss relevant issues and pursue the opportunities D E & I initiatives present.”
