BNY Mellon has tapped industry veteran Jeffrey Mortimer to be director of investment strategy for its wealth management group. Based in Boston, Mortimer will set asset allocation strategy and make investment recommendations for implementation in client portfolios. Mortimer previously worked for Charles Schwab as chief investment officer and also served as vice president and partner at Bainco International Investors prior to that.
Genworth Financial Wealth Management has added Rico Casares to its practice management consulting team. The team is one of GFWM's new initiatives launched to provide business support to its advisors across the lifecycle of their business. Casares, responsible for the Southeast region, has worked with nationally recognized broker dealers for nearly 20 years.
UHY Advisors NY has hired Elite Rubin as its new director of marketing. Rubin will oversee marketing, communications and public relations initiatives and activities in the northeast region. Rubin previously served as the Northeast marketing manager at McGladrey, LLP.
Capstone Advisory Group has named David Shapiro executive director and head of restructuring for the Midwest region. Shapiro, previously employed by Houlihan Lokey Capital as a senior vice president in their financial restructuring group, also worked for both Bank of America and LaSalle Bank as a senior vice president in their special assets groups.
KVO Capital Management has hired Brooke Parish as president and chief executive officer. The firm will also change its name to Oakum Bay Capital LLC as part of a strategic initiative to expand their investment capabilities and capital base. Parish, who will become a partner and shareholder of Oakum Bay, was a partner at York Capital Management, where he most recently led the client advisory group.
TD Bank has named Brandon Williams senior vice president and head of TD Wealth in the U.S. Based in New York City, Williams will oversee all U.S. TD Wealth functions serving high-net-worth clients. Joining TD Bank in 2001, Williams was responsible for building out the company's retail banking franchise in New York City, growing the network by more than 80 stores in less than 10 years. Most recently, Williams served as chief of staff and is the chair of TD Bank's People with Disabilities Committee.
Sage Consulting and Wealth Preservation, a professional team consisting of attorneys, CPA's, insurance and estate planners serving affluent families and businesses, has named Rachelle Boff as director of business development. Boff comes to Sage with an established background in marketing and business development as a brand manager and marketing associate.
